Dr. Adelia Lobo is a dedicated Paediatrician who currently serves as the Senior Registrar in the Department of Paediatrics at St. Martha’s Hospital, Bangalore.
After completing her schooling at Carmel Convent, Mysore, she pursued her undergraduate (MBBS) in 2017 and postgraduate (MD in Paediatrics)degree in 2023 , from the prestigious Father Muller Medical College, Mangalore.
With a strong foundation in medical knowledge and hands-on experience in Paediatric care, Dr. Lobo is committed to providing high-quality healthcare to children, ensuring their well-being and recovery in a supportive environment.
Her areas of expertise include routine Out-patient care, Emergency ICU as well as Newborn care, Vaccine administration, and Dietary guidelines. She also monitors children's development closely with keen focus on lifestyle modifications for preventable diseases, helping families make informed choices for better health outcomes.
Dr. Lobo is the author of several noteworthy works that address key challenges in neonatal care. Her publication in the Muller Journal of Medical Sciences and Research -"Clinical Profile of Term Neonates Requiring Intervention for Hyperbilirubinemia,"offers insights into the management and clinical presentation of newborns affected by hyperbilirubinemia, emphasizing early diagnosis and treatment to prevent complications like kernicterus.
In her dissertation on -"Interleukin-6 as the Early Marker of Neonatal Sepsis in Babies Born to Mothers with PROM and PPROM," she investigates the role of IL-6 as a potential early indicator of neonatal sepsis. This research is particularly significant for neonates born to mothers with Premature Rupture of Membranes (PROM) and Preterm PROM (PPROM), as it aims to facilitate early detection and intervention, ultimately reducing morbidity and mortality rates among vulnerable newborns.
Her poster presentation " The Complete Truth of the Incomplete Side," delves into the rare but severe neurological disorder known as Rasmussen Encephalitis.
