About

The department of ENT is one of the oldest departments of the hospital and has over the years increased the scope of its services with the aim of providing comprehensive ENT services to our clientele. It is staffed by highly qualified and experienced specialists both Senior and Junior who provide round the clock care to their patients including emergencies. The ENT department is also fully equipped with the latest equipment ( both diagnostic and therapeutic) and is in the process of acquiring additional devices for enhancing the diagnostic and therapeutic services provided to our patients.

Services

Outpatient Departmrent Procedures

Clinical evaluation and management of all ENT disorders including tinnitus, vertigo and headache using the latest diagnostic aids and therapeutic modalities
Video nasal endoscopy for diagnostic and therapeutic applications
Nasal packing and immediate control of epistaxis, wound dressing and chemical cautery of lesions of the nose and ears
Foreign body removal from the nose ,throat and ears
Biopsy of lesions of the nose, oral cavity .oropharynx and ears
Videolaryngoscopy using the 90 degree endoscope and the flexible fibreoptic nasopharyngolaryngoscope
Fibreoptic bronchoscopy

Surgical Procedures Performed

Microsurgery of the ear including tympanoplasty,mastoidectomy and stapedectomy
Sinonasal surgery including septoplasty,rhinoplasty ,functional endoscopic sinonasal surgery (FESS), endoscopic dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR) and endoscopic repair of cerebrospinal fluid (CSF )fistulae
Facial plastic surgery
Head and neck surgery including surgery of the thyroid and salivary glands
Tracheostomy
Microlaryngeal and phonosurgery
Upper aerodigestive tract endoscopy
Fibreoptic bronchoscopy including bronchoscopy guided endotracheal intubation for general anaesthesia
Tracheoplasty
Minor surgical procedures of the nose ,throat, oral cavity and ears are performed under local anaesthesia in the minor OT in the casualty department by ENT faculty

Audiology Services

The full range of audiology and speech services are available in the outpatient department
Audiologocal tests ranging from the pure tone audiometry (PTA) to special tests of hearing and vestibular evaluation tests for tinnitus and vertigo are available
New born screening with the otoacoustic emission (OAE) analyzer is being done for all new born babies as a routine
Brain stem response audiometry is also being done in the audiology suite when required
Hearing aid evaluation,trials ,dispensing and fitting are being done at discounted rates for those in need of these services
