Dr. Pravin Mohan Rao, MD, is an alumnus of the Armed Forces Medical College. He served in the Indian Air Force for 27 years during which he completed his postgraduation in Anaesthesiology from the University of Mumbai in 2003. He presently heads the Department of Anaesthesiology and the Medical Intensive Care Unit (MICU) at St. Martha's Hospital. He has a special interest in procedural sedation, management of the difficult airway and anaesthesia for challenging and high risk cases. He is experienced in managing intensive care units of the open- and semi-open models, in collaboration with a privileged physician. He is also an instructor in ATLS (Advanced Trauma Life Support) under the aegis of the American College of Surgeons.
