Dr Shivaprasad B currently working as senior consultant and HOD of neonatology, st martha’s hospital . After completing his graduation MBBS in BLDES’S B M Patil medical college, bijapur in 1999. He did DNB postgraduation from prestigious institute, Institute of child health and hospital for children of Madras medical college, chennai.

Later he worked as senior resident in pediatrics department for 2years before entering into neonatology course. He pursued his DNB neonatology course from Mehta children’s hospital Chennai in 2012.

From 2013, he is heading the neonatology department in st martha’s hospital. He took active interest in renovation of NICU and extending services to outborn babies also. His expertisation saved lives of many extreme premature and extreme low birth weight babies. He has introduced various screening tests for newborns like CCHD screening, ROP screening, newborn metabolic screening and hearing screening for all babies for early detection of important subtle diseases.

He has thorough experience in managing sick newborns, ventilation cases, noninvasive ventilation, exchange transfusion etc.

He has five publications in national and international journals. He has many oral and poster presentations at national and regional conferences. He has guiding many DNB students in neonatology thesis.

He is life member of national neonatology forum, Indian academy of paediatrics, nnf Karnataka.
