The Department of General Medicine is involved in providing high-quality, patient-centred care that is also up-to-date and evidence-based. Two Medical Units, each with its team of experienced consultants and resident doctors manage the out-patient, in-patient and emergency departments and lend medical support to care of patients in other departments as well, especially for pre-operative evaluation and also post-operative care when needed. The department is also responsible for care of patients in sub-specialties like cardiology, nephrology, pulmonology, gastroenterology, neurology, etc.
